Take part in research

in three simple steps

STEP 1

You sign up

To sign you up, we need to know a few things. Where you’re from, for instance. How old you are. What your hobbies are. This helps us invite you for research that suits you well. And of course, we take good care of your data. If you ever decide to sign out: Just send us an email and we’ll remove all your details.

STEP 2

You take part

Once you’re signed up, your job is done. Every now and then (a few times a year) we’ll send you an email with a short survey about a research study. You answer a couple of questions and based on that we decide whether or not the research suits you. If so, we invite you for an interview of maximum one hour.

STEP 3

You get your reward

Your feedback is valuable for companies. It helps them improve their site or app. That’s why you get a nice reward. We transfer the money to your account no later than two weeks after your interview. The amount varies between €20 and €100. On top of that, we compensate for travel expenses.

What to expect of the interview

An interview in our lab is pretty simple and informal. First, you have a little chat with the researcher. He or she explains what you’re going to do. After that, you go through the site or app based on a few simple tasks. You think out loud, you tell the researcher where you get stuck, and what works well for you. The nice part? You can say anything that comes to mind. There’s no good or bad. The interview is like a simple conversation in which you share your experience.

Not every interview is the same. We do interviews in a bunch of different ways. Online or in our lab. One-on-one or in a group. In the invite you’ll get beforehand, we let you know what you can expect. This way you’ll never be surprised.

Online or in our lab

Every research is different. Sometimes we do the interviews online. Sometimes we prefer to meet you face-to-face in our lab.

Sometimes we do online research

If we do online research, you can tune in from home with you laptop or phone. To make sure everything runs smoothly, we give you some instructions and do a technical check beforehand.

Sometimes we do research in our lab

We’ve been doing interviews in our labs in the heart of Amsterdam for over 20 years now. A lab might sound serious and exciting, but it really isn’t: It’s basically a calm, relaxed space with two computer screens. That’s it.
